Gypsum board is usually made of plastic composites, which are then coated on the outer layer to increase its fire resistance capability. Moreover, the plastic coating serves as a sound insulation that helps to keep the temperature inside the house lower than it would otherwise be. Moreover, they provide a level of flexibility that makes it easy to fit different shapes and sizes without compromising on its support system. Also, they are relatively easy to install.
As the demand for insulating roofs like tiles and asphalt shingles is increasing, producers of roofing materials are investing in research and development of new, more durable varieties of these products. One such product is the polystyrene foam core roofs which offer excellent thermal insulation characteristics and excellent sound insulation properties. This foam core performs well in all kinds of weather and temperatures and does not become brittle under certain conditions.
